Conducting more than 131 thousand AIDS Testing in Duhok

In the 1st of December which is the occasion of World Day to Combat AIDS, the Directorate of Health Affairs Prevention had commemorated this day and presented with several seminars on raising the awareness of health. Dr. Sirwan Mohammed Asawd, the Director of Health Prevention mentioned the symptoms that appeared on the afflicted person and the reasons of transferring the AIDS as the sexual relationship is not the only way to convey this disease, but there are many other ways to transfer this disease as; a surgery or contaminated blood transfusions from an afflicted person to another as well as it is possible to contact the center by phone or e-mail and the testes are conducted in full secrecy.

As Dr. Sirwan said: until now, we have conducted 131 thousand AIDS testing in Duhok, and three cases has recorded as we found three other cases are not citizens of the Kurdistan region therefore sent them to their home countries. Dr Sirwan also touched the drugs issue where the provision of medicines is made in cooperation between the Ministries of Health Region and Baghdad in addition to the afflicted with AIDS receipts of an amount of money monthly.
