15 Local Organizations will Work on Psychological Issues inside Camps

On Nov 26, 2018 with the attendance of Dr. Nezar Ismat, the general director of directorate of health in Duhok, the director of BRHA, Idrees Nabi, the general consul of Britain in Kurdistan and some organizations, the capacity building and sustaining project of local NGOs has ended.

Ms. Gulistan Chalabi, the organizer of IOM organization for social support projects claimed, “This year we have started this project to provide psychological and social trainings to 15 local NGOs, the project covered all topics that would help in capacity building of the employees and give them further support in working with IDPs, mainly in social and psychological issues. As a result of the offensive and massacres that happened to Sinjar by the ISIS militants, many of the survivor women who have been enslaved by ISIS after their release have faced some psychological problems; we will work in all means to provide them essential therapies as well as to enable them for finding jobs to be independent financially”.

She concluded that an excellent project has been implemented in coordination with the directorate of health and NGOs, which will work together to carry out a healthier psychosocial support to women.
