Conference on Health Prevention activities

During the past five months, the Prevention Directorate of Duhok Health announced their activities at a conference held on 06.03.2013 in the hall of the Directorate, which reported statistics a total of 20 million dinars for offending shops.

The Prevention Director of Duhok health Dr. Sirwan Mohammed Aswad ravel out at the conference, that during the last five months they had closed several shops by the Health Control Section, which is responsible for the health of the citizens, includes seven sectors where follow-up in all public places. It also has a full authority to shut down the shop for 90 days or pay an amount of money unless apply the official rules and directives of the health prevention.

Through this conference, Dr .Sirwan Mohammed Aswad stated: "we have been conducting sanctions against 113 shop by an amount of money between 250 thousand dinars or more and close 107 shops failure to implement directives of Health, also destroyed 67 tons of foodstuffs expired and we controlled on 28 tons of alcohol and destroying 4451 cartons of cigarettes and more than 3 tons of expired drugs.”

Furthermore Dr. Sirwan also lighted on increasing sweets in form of cigarettes and pills which have been destroyed because of their effect on children's health and behavior since the publicity for cigarettes prohibited at all according to the guidance of the Health Ministry.
