Opening Meeting on Diabetes

In 2013-11-17 the occasion of the World Day for Diabetics with the presence of the General Director of Duhok Health Dr. Nezar Ismat, the Center of Diabetes had organized an open meeting to discuss on the problems of health institutions to provide the supplies for this disease.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr Idris Haji Ahmed, a specialist Diabetes doctor and director of the Diabetes Center in Duhok, had mentioned the quantity of drugs in the center was excellent , while at the present time a lack of the drugs was noted plus major problems in medicine after they became affiliated to the Iraqi Ministry of Health.As well as Dr. Idris cast light on the reason behind not sending the diabetes patients out of the country due to the presence of Doctors diabetes specialists within the region plus the medicines.

Dr. Idris also touched on the subject of controlling the Diabetes disease and statistics center, saying: In fact, we do not have accurate statistics on the number of patients which leads to difficulty finding the proportion of the disease control. In spite of the number of people registered by the Center was 10,500 infected, the un-official statistics indicate more than 100 thousand patients in Duhok.
