Duhok Province: Reviving The World Diabetes Day

In 14 Nov of every year, the Directorate General of Health Duhok revived the World Diabetes Day. The director-general of health Duhok Dr. Nezar Ismat, has confirmed, that the aim of reviving the World Diabetes Day is to make it clear to the people the causes and symptoms of this disease as how to avoidance of, as Dr. Nezar added: "the Duhok Health has several strategies in order to reduce the number of diseases and to raise health awareness at the people.Also he noted the existence of new plans for family treatment centers to providing greater services for patients, especially diabetes.

Through reviving this day, the Governor of Duhok agency Mr. Behzad Ali, has thanked all the doctors and Duhok health staff being despite of an economic crisis with arrival of a large number of displaced people to the region, they have continued to carry out their duties with best.

Furthermore, Dr. Rejib Hassan Sanan, specialist of family health has declared that 415 million people worldwide have diabetes and that by 2040 there will be 642 million people infected with the disease, and that the equivalent of one patient for every 10 people.
