Japan Launches Blood Bank Project in Duhok

On October 16, 2018 the director general of Duhok health directorate, Dr. Nezar Esmat affirmed that with the presence of Ferhad Ameen, governor of Duhok governorate, the consul general of Japan in Kurdistan region, Kat Sumi Maryssa and PWJ organization the reconstruction and rearrangement project of the blood bank has been released.

Ferhad Ameen, the governor of Duhok governorate declared, “The constant support from Japan to the Kurdistan region generally, to Duhok governorate and health sector specifically indicates that they have a great interest and concern over health issues. It is obvious that the pressure, which can be noticed on health sector, as result of huge number of refugees and IDPs along with the host community. Although, health unit has not been in that preferred level as it was supposed to be, yet they offered an excellent service concerning health in Duhok district. Japan has assisted in constructing several camps for refugees in Zaxo district, with accomplishing many other outstanding projects. Particularly, in collaboration with PWJ organization they implemented a systematized work in the blood bank.”

“Because of the economic crisis in the past five years, which left a huge impact on the health sector and required hospitals have not been constructed to assist a better service to our people through them”, he added.

Dr. Nezar Esmat, the director general of Duhok health directorate claimed that the blood bank project has been reconstructed and expanded by Japan; in a very short period of time PWJ organization could renovate it and more than 100 thousand dollars have been spent over the project.
